How To Prepare Street Food Like Spicy Bread Omelette Sandwich | Healthy Breakfast Recipe

When I got to know about street food theme I was excited, as I had already a list planned for the same. But something went wrong while saving, either computer shut down without saving or browser. I had samosa chat, misal pav, and Chinese bhel as my street food theme and scheduled for the corresponding date. Feeling so bad while writing again.

Since we left to Bangalore trip all of sudden so I scheduled around 11 posts. Now I decided to change the items and finally posting.
On our way to Bangalore in the evening, we stopped at one small hut type place for some quick fix eatables. They were making bread omelet. Really cannot explain in words how it was to have it in the cold weather and on the street having a plate in our palms. Smell and hotness of the omelette was a heavenly feeling for our empty tummy and a need to go further till we reach the hotel. After coming back I thought of documenting it. Though we mix other veggies in omelette while making at home but this simple yet mouthwatering omelette is a special one as street food. So here I am with the recipe they cook.

Ingredients: Yield for 4 (2 adults 2 kids)



6 Eggs
8 Wholewheat bread pieces
2 Medium size onion chopped finely
2 Medium size tomato chopped finely
2 Green chilies chopped finely
1 Fistful green coriander chopped finely
Butter to cook
Salt as per taste


Method: Break the egg in a mixing bowl and beat with the help of fork or spoon. Add two tblsp of chopped onion, tomato, green coriander and salt as per taste. Mix well.

Heat a griddle on low flame and grease with the butter. You can add a generous amount of butter, the more the better :). Pour the egg mixture on the griddle and spread evenly on the surface. Cook it for 2-3 min on low flame. It starts becoming solid than flip it over and cook on another side for few seconds. 

Place two pieces of bread on the omelette. The outer surface I applied butter. Bread sticks to one side of omelette. Flip it on other side and cook for 2 min till bread color will become brown.

Street style bread omelette is ready to serve. We have it as it is or just sprinkle some black pepper. Serve hot.
